Cedar Hill Training Center wants to help teach you to train your dogs so he/she can be happier, healthier, more well adjusted companion that you will be proud to take anywhere. Please take a moment to read what some of my students have to say about their experiences using me.
Pat Turnage has trained me and 3 of my dachshunds in obedience. Each of these dogs had different issues. Lucy thought she was in charge. Tess was so timid that she hid in the corner, and Will'em just wanted to run from everyone, including me. They are now all actively competing in agility, thanks to Pat. I can definitely recommend her as a trainer who emphasizes praise and positive encouragement!

Pat Turnage was my "angel in disguise" when it came to instilling confidence in my dog! When I purchased Beezer (Bichon/Poodle mix) from a no-kill shelter, she was an 8 week old bundle of fur. As a puppy, she was never "people-oriented". It was all I could do to get near enough to pick her up to cuddle.
At age 3, I took her to one of Pat's obedience classes. Beezer HATED it......too many dogs, people and confusion. However, after only a couple of weeks of training, she began to come out of her shell and started to enjoy learning. By the time the course was over, Beezer was an entirely different dog! She still didn't go up to people on her own, but someone could actually approach and touch her without her going bonkers!
I continued in the obedience classes for several months and soon Beezer became the "demo dog", strutting her stuff for the rest of the handler/dog teams. With much coaxing from Pat, I decided to try her in agility and lo and behold she actually had the confidence to complete the obstacles and enter competitions!
I sincerely thank Pat for helping me turn Beezer into a wonderful companion with loads of confidence. Beezer's not perfect by any means, but she's a well-adjusted, happy dog and SHE'S MINE!

Loved the positive reinforcement. Pat made sure the dogs were praised and treated fairly. Knows her stuff - which I needed. Great!

Would like to thank you so very much for helping me in teaching my dog Luna. If I only knew what difference it would had made in her I would had taken my other two dogs to school. I will never have another dog unless it goes to school. Plus Luna LOVES agility!
Thanks again Pat
Dear Pat,
Thank you so much for all the lessons Lady & I learned in our obedience class. Lady is a joy and we now can take her anywhere. Our goal is for Lady to be as well mannered as she is beautiful. Thanks to you and your expertise, she is well on her way.
Thanks,
Kate P.
Another satisfied student wrote: Right number of classes. Loved the agility part of class. It was so much fun. It really helped having your dog & the poodle show how things are done. Clear instructionss & handouts very helpful. Other literature is appreciated also. Location fantastic! Price is comparable to other training classes except this class was more professional. Enjoyed the class & am looking forward to the Advanced training.

Thought I would write and let you know that I have learned and appreciate you for all that you have done for and with LUNA and I.
We just finished the beginning class of Agility. We passed and did very well. Luna likes (or I should say LOVES the see-saw, and the walk that’s about 5 feet high). It took awhile for her to go threw the chute, but the tunnel was easy. But I will say, it paid off to take your class on obedience, then take the beginning agility. Cause the first 3 classes was about basic behavior. And boy could you tell the ones that did not have good behavior. Even my husband was amazed. We will be taking Sequencing one.
Luna’s personality has really blossomed also. I would like to bring little MISS shy to class and let you see the difference.
Take care
Brenda
I had just adopted my dog Taz-z from Fuzzy Friends Animal Shelter a few days before joining Pat's obedience class. It turned out to be the perfect way for the two of us to bond. Week after week we attended class, listened to Pat's directions, and did our homework. The hard work paid off when Taz-z passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Throughout the ten weeks of training I was impressed with Pat's professionalism as well as her constant encouragement. Thanks to Pat, Taz-z and I are off to a good start!

Pat is a wonderful dog trainer! We first took our dog to her obedience class when he was a 5 month old puppy. He is a border collie/lab mix and full of energy. Through the use of praise and positive encouragement, he learned so much and quickly. We did the homework with him explained on the handouts and it really paid off. It was a great way to bond with him too. He went through the advanced obedience class also and just finished an agility class. He loved them all. He recently turned one and I can proudly say is a well behaved dog. We take him places with us without having to worry about how he will act. We are glad we started his classes when he was just a puppy - we think it was the perfect age to start but it's never too late to train your dog. We highly recommend Pat.Neil, Lynne and Dexter
